Beware of IRS Scams

Scammers claiming to be IRS agents or law enforcement are intent on stealing your money and/or your identity. Remember that the IRS will NEVER:

♦   Call you to demand immediate payment. The IRS will
always send you a bill in the mail first. If you receive a
call from someone claiming to be with the IRS,
     hang up.

♦    Demand that you pay  your taxes a certain way, and
certainly not with a prepaid debit card.

♦    Ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone.

♦    Threaten to bring in local law enforcement or other
agencies to arrest you for not paying.

The IRS and state agencies are working hard to implement security measures meant to protect against this kind of fraud.

Don’t hesitate to call us if you get one of these phone calls and are concerned or have questions. We are here to help you.
